Grassroots Sports Bristol are a Sports Coaching Company who offer Sports sessions as well as Extended After School Clubs
What we Offer!
Our Extended After School Club
We offer an Extended After School Club for Waycroft Academy Children. We pick the children up from the school and we walk them back to the BS14 Youth Club. At the Youth Club the children can play and do what their hearts desire, some activities they can do are: Arts & Crafts, Football and other sports in the sports hall, pool, table football or play in the garden area, on the rope swing or exploring outdoors! We also provide the children with a small snack such as crisps, biscuits or fruit. The club runs from school pick up time and finishes at 5:20, but parents/carers are welcome to pick up anytime before this.
Sports Specific After School Clubs
We currently run Sports specific After School Clubs at Waycroft Academy. On a Monday is Key Stage 2 multisports so each week the children can try and learn a new sport whilst expanding their knowledge and having fun. Then on Tuesdays is Key Stage 1 Gymnastics, for those who haven’t tried gym before can learn the basics but also for regular gymnasts to continue and progress. Then we run Football Clubs on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays as they are so in demand by the Waycroft children. We cover a topic within the game of football each week, to improve them as players and for some an introduction to the sport. Wednesdays are for Key Stage 1 children, Thursdays for Key Stage 2 and Fridays for the girls who want to play! We also run a Multi Sports and Football Club at Woodlands Academy! Over 55’s Walking Football
On Thursdays and Fridays we run Walking Football Sessions for people over 55. We always begin the session with a thorough warmup to ensure no injuries occur and also looking into a bit of balance and coordination to keep us all sharp! We then move onto a small activity to help with our knowledge and adapting to the walking aspect as we can all be tempted to run! And finally we move into a match, which last anywhere from 15 - 30 mins depending on abilities. After the session you’re welcome to join us for a cup of tea or coffee and put the world to rights! Our Thursday session runs from 11am - 1pm at Broad Plain & Riverside Youth Project, Clement Street, BS2 9ES. And our Friday session runs from 10am - 12pm at BS14 Youth Club, Stockwood, Stockwood Lane, BS14 8SJ.
Football For Fun!
We run our Football for Fun sessions on a Sunday Morning. During our sessions we pick a sub topic within the game of football and we train and work on this, then we finish with a match where we try to implement the training into the game. Our goal is to ensure that football remains fun for the children and that it doesn’t become too serious to fast. We run three sessions on a Sunday Morning which starts with the First Group at 9am - 9:45am for Ages 5-7, Middle Group at 9:45 - 10:30 for Ages 7-9 and Big Group at 10:30 - 11:30 for Ages 9-12. Preschool PE Sessions
We offer pre school PE sessions where we take a topic such as co-ordination, agility, aiming and team games. We do this to work on their fine and gross motor skills, to help their development and learn these things to get a head start before going to school. Holiday Clubs
During Half Terms we run our Holiday Clubs for children aged between 5-12. We currently run them at the BS14 Youth Club, Stockwood Lane, Stockwood, BS14 8SJ. During the day we play all sorts of activities ranging from fun run around Games to Sports to Arts and Crafts. We offer two time frames for the day which are: Normal Hours: 9am - 3pm and Extended Hours: 8:30am - 4:30pm. Please contact Jeff for more information! Birthday Party’s
We deliver the activity part of birthday party’s, previously this has been football and sporty run around games for the children. We always include a warm up game and then continue into the sport as well as anything else that the birthday boy/girl wants to do! We base this off of a 2 hour party, the first hour for the activities, the second for anything the parents/carers have planned and then finish with anything else the children want to take part in.
